In Year 3 this half term our topic is Romans. We are learning about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79 and writing eye-witness reports for a news reporter. We will be developing our sketching skills to sketch landscapes of Mount Vesuvius and also colour-mixing paint to create our own paintings of the volcano’s fiery eruption.
We will be looking at resources from the Hampshire Wardrobe to learn more about the Romans and their impact on our History. We will follow on from this with writing a detailed non-chronological report about the Romans. Topics will include Roman baths, armies and leisure. Art work will include printing repeating patterns and designing mosaics.
In French, the children are learning how to introduce themselves and how to tell someone their age. Our topic in Science this term is about how we digest food and eating healthily.
