Year R Having a Cracking Time
19 April 2018
The children in the Foundation stage enjoyed watching the chicks hatch from eggs in March. They started off in the incubator being kept warm by the motor. We saw the eggs crack one by one.
Then the chicks made a little hole, (this is called pipping!). Then out popped a chick. They were all wet and wobbly to start with but soon woke up and dried out to be fluffy. The yellow ones are boys and the brown ones are girls! We held or stroked one and enjoyed looking after them.
